Biomes O’ Plenty

Biomes O’ Plenty is a mod which introduces 80 new biomes and 12 sub-biomes to the game, many of which have new blocks, mobs and biome-specific plants compared to vanilla world. To create a world with Biomes O’ Plenty biomes, world type «Biomes O’ Plenty» should be selected instead of «Standard», «Superflat», etc.

This mod also adds more variance to tools and armor, new equipment and plants and food, new sources of color, new ranged weapon and some other engaging blocks to build with.This mod is also compatible with Mystcraft, as most of the biomes (with few exceptions) can be found as pages.

  Biomes [ edit ]

  The following biomes are added by the mod. All information is based on the default configuration.

  Overworld Biomes [ edit ]

  The following biomes can all be found in the overworld, assuming a default config is being used. Any of these biomes, as well as the vanilla biomes, can be toggled with the Biomes O’ Plenty config file.

  Sub-Biomes [ edit ]

  Sub-biomes are smaller biomes contained within regular overworld biomes. They exist to add more variation to each biome.

  Biomes O’ Plenty adds five unique biomes to the Nether in addition to the Vanilla «Hell» biome.

  Promised Land Biomes [ edit ]

  The Promised Land is a dimension added by Biomes O’ Plenty, accessed by crafting an Ancient Staff. This dimension has 3 different biomes, listed below.

  Promised Land [ edit ]

  The Promised Land was a dimension added by some versions of Biomes O’ Plenty (and removed for Minecraft 1.7 onwards). It was made to represent the skylands teased by Mojang before The End was released. The Promised Land was a collection of floating islands made from Skystone and Purified Grass. It is the only place that Loftwood Trees and Chromaflora will grow naturally. In addition, it was the only place that the player can find Celestial Crystals and Amethyst. A big appeal of the Promised Land was the eternal day and no mob spawning* of any kind.

  Accessing the Promised Land requires use of an Ancient Staff, needing the 6 gems added by Biomes O’ Plenty, End Stone and a Nether Star, meaning the player will have to both defeat the Wither and venture into The End before the Promised Land can be reached. Using the staff will turn it into a Depleted Ancient Staff and create a portal to the Promised Land directly overhead. A portal to the Promised Land can only be created in the overworld. Using the staff in another dimension will have no effect. The Depleted Ancient Staff can be recombined with a new Nether Star to create a new Ancient Staff.

  • Other mods may cause hostile or passive mob spawning in the Promised Land, spawning issues were one of the causes leading to removal of the area from the mod.

  Gems [ edit ]

  Biomes O’ Plenty adds 6 new gems to the game along with their corresponding ores. The gems added include Ruby, Peridot, Topaz, Tanzanite, Apatite, and Sapphire. All of the gems have entries in the ore dictionary except for Apatite (for balancing purposes with Forestry’s Apatite). Their rarity is the same as that of the vanilla Emerald and can be found spawning between y=4 and y=32. Like the Emerald, all the gems added by Biomes O’ Plenty can be found only in biomes of a specific type, listed below. They can also be found as loot in temples and dungeons. The Fortune enchant works on all of the ores, giving the player between 1 and 16 gems with Fortune III.

  The gems have two uses beyond decoration. They are required to craft the Ancient Staff to access the Promised Land and they are used in the Sacrificial Altar to summon an Ender Dragon. All 6 gems must be found to create either of these things.

  There is also a 7th gem, Amethyst, which can only be found in the Promised Land. It can be used to craft tools and armor at a tier higher than Diamond. It can also be used to craft an Amethyst Bucket that can pick up Spring Water.

  Gem Locations [ edit ]

  Biomes O’Plenty has specific locations for gems when using the default config. The gems are all found in biomes of a specific type:

  • Emerald : found in Forest/Mountain-type biomes
  • Ruby : found in Desert-type biomes
  • Peridot : found in Grassland-type biomes
  • Topaz : found in Jungle/Tropical-type biomes
  • Tanzanite : found in Snow-type biomes
  • Malachite : found in Swamp-type biomes
  • Amber : new gem added in 1.7.2 ; found in River and Grove biomes, other locations unknown yet

  Trees

  Each of the regular tree types can be cut down for wood and planks, and the planks can be crafted into stairs and slabs. They come in a variety of colors, which make them excellent for avid builders. Leaves can also be harvested with shears or broken for occasional saplings. Additionally, logs can be stripped to create barkless versions of their respective species.

    Tree Info [ ]

    This section displays info about all BOP trees. Note: Tree species are not 100% accurate and are chosen by the tree that most closely resembles it. Additionally, fictional names have been made up for the trees that are fantasy. You may edit the real tree species if you find one that looks more like it, however, DO NOT edit the fantasy ones.

    Origin (Quercus primaria) [ ]

    Origin trees are only found in the Origin Valley biome. They resemble the old oak trees from Alpha Minecraft. In fact, they even spawn with the same parameters as trees did in Alpha.

    Flowering Oak (Quercus robur) [ ]

    Flowering Oak trees are flowering versions of oaks that feature white blossoms. They can be found in lots of biomes.

    Rainbow Birch (Betula irisofolia) [ ]

    Rainbow Birch trees are birch trees found in the Rainbow Hills biome. Their color of leaves changes depending on where they are placed, hence the name. This is arguably the hardest tree to find.

    Yellow Autumn (Betula alleghaniensis) [ ]

    Yellow Autumn trees have yellow leaves. They spawn in Seasonal Forests.

    Orange Autumn (Quercus rubra) [ ]

    Orange Autumn trees have orange leaves. They spawn in Seasonal Forests.

    Ender Amethyst

    Ender Amethyst is a biome-specific gemstone introduced with Biomes O’Plenty. It appears as an ore, an item, and decorative block.

    Ender Amethyst Ore is only obtainable in the outer islands.

    Obtaining [ ]

    A Diamond Pickaxe is required to mine Ender Amethyst Ore. A Silk Touch Pickaxe can be used to collect the block of ore rather than the Amethyst drop. The ore drops one gem with an unenchanted diamond pickaxe. With fortune, the ore can drop up to four gems, one extra per level of fortune. Ender Amethyst Ore cannot be smelted.

    9 Amethyst can be crafted into a Block of Amethyst for storage, decoration or showing off your riches. These stack to 64. It is a key ingredient in the Biome Finder.

    History [ ]

    Before 1.7.2, Amethyst was found in the Promised Land. However after the Promised Land was removed, it was useless, until 1.9.4 where it was re-added to The End along with Biome Essence Ore and Celestial Crystals. It was also a piece required for several removed items or armor and tools. And completely removed in 1.13.2 and higher.

    • In real life, amethyst is the name of purple quartz.
    • In real life, diamond is stronger than Amethyst. It is only a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, while diamonds are ten—the highest value of any mineral. However, some claim that lonsdaleite is even harder.
    • The old ID for Amethyst before 1.8 was 21266/2.

    Biomes O’ Plenty

    Biomes O’ Plenty (рус. Обилие биомов) — модификация к игре Minecraft, расширяющая границы исследования и путешествий. Добавляет большое количество различных биомов земного типа, в стиле фэнтези, а также другие интересные вещи.

    В моде присутствуют различные уровни инструментов, один новый инструмент — коса, которая используется для быстрой очистки травы, листьев и других растений, а также некоторые другие предметы, как, например, дротик.

    Biomes O’ Plenty добавляет и пользовательские достижения, каждые из которых попросту выполняются в различных участках определённых биомов, например, в красных скалах, рядом со светящимися цветами и т. д. Также существует достижение «Исследователь биомов», которое игрок может получить за обнаружение всех биомов.

    В модификации была изменена генерация деревень, что позволило им генерироваться по большей части в плоских и реалистичных биомах (а не в фэнтези-биомах). Деревни могут генерироваться в полностью настроенном виде, а также в соблюдении расстояния между ними. Однако расстояние между деревнями влияет только на тип мира в Biomes O’ Plenty.

    На данный момент мод есть для множества версий Minecraft, в том числе и Minecraft 1.11.

    Установка [ ]

    1. Установить последнюю версию Forge. Скачать можно здесь.
    2. Поместить jar-мод в папку Mods в директории игры ( %AppData%/.minecraft ).
    3. Перезапустить Minecraft (если был запущен).
