This is a Guide about how to effectively use Woodie’s beaver form in Don’t Starve. In Don’t Starve Together, significant changes have occurred that have caused many of these strategies to become impossible.

First, try to avoid turning into a beaver by cutting too much wood. Prepare a big tree farm before your curse takes hold, and stockpile sanity-gaining materials and clothing. Healing Salves and poultices are also helpful. Try to keep your sanity at 120-200 at all times. When full moon comes, cut down all the trees you can see that are fully grown until a Treeguard spawns. Maintain being a beaver until the second full moon is over, which will take 2 or 3 days. After the curse wears off, try to kill as many Beardlings as you can and then make Meatballs out of the Monster Meat and Berries. This is also a good way to farm Beard Hair and Nightmare Fuel for crafting later. Then, use some of your Dress items and sanity gaining items to get your sanity to 120-200 again, and use the healing salve to heal yourself up to full health. Farming like this can get you a lot of useful materials.

The Curse [ ]

If Woodie chops down too many Trees in a short space of time or if it is a Full Moon, he will transform into a Werebeaver. It does not matter which axe is used in the process. In this Werebeaver form, the Map will be unavailable, and all of the HUD will disappear and be replaced by the Log Meter.

The Werebeaver is able to chop down Trees, dig plants, mine Rocks, demolish Structures (like a Hammer would), dig Graves and Rabbit holes, and fight mobs. His attack strength is equivalent to normal damage of a Tentacle Spike (51). If the player destroys a Plugged Sinkhole they will not be able to travel down as a Werebeaver. The Werebeaver has unlimited night vision and as such is immune to Charlie.

The log meter is effectively like both health and hunger in werebeaver form. It will decay at a rate of 2 points every 2.5 seconds and any damage taken will be absorbed by the log meter. To keep the meter up the player must consume any of the items listed below. Because it’s much easier to refill the log meter than to heal and because werebeaver form has a built in 80% armor effect and high attack damage, many players prefer werebeaver form for combat, especially early on. Werebeaver combat is less useful in games where you already have a Marble Suit + Football Helmet combo (98% damage reduction) and several Tentacle Spikes.

Furthermore, the werebeaver’s gnaw ability is much faster than digging with a shovel, faster than a pickaxe, and has no durability. Many players like to dig up all the grass twigs and berries, smash all the rocks, loot all the graves and generally Grinch large areas in werebeaver form, and then pick everything up afterward in normal Woody form.

The Werebeaver has no inventory and will drop all items upon transformation, including Lucy the Axe. When the Log meter reaches 0, the player will spawn in the same spot in which they just died, as Woodie, at the beginning of the next day, with 50 Health, 50 Hunger, and 50 Sanity. Any mobs aggressive against the Werebeaver will remain in place and also be aggressive towards Woodie, possibly killing him because of the low health.

The console command for turning Woodie into the Werebeaver is

Don’t Starve Together [ ]

(Note: Woodie’s refresh completely changed how his wereforms work, the current text isn’t definitive and is just meant to approximately describe how it works now, until someone changes it to be more accurate and precise.)

In Don’t Starve Together, Woodie has three different wereforms, in addition to the werebeaver he can also turn into the weregoose and weremoose. There are three ways for woodie to transform: He can eat two monster foods which will induce a random transformation, he can now craft kitchy moose/goose/beaver idols which can be consumed and allow him to transform into their respective wereform, and finally he still transforms into a random wereform during full moon. Woodie no longer transforms from too much wood chopping.

  • Weregoose: In Woodie’s goose form he has increased movement speed and can sprint on water. The weregoose is unable to perform any actions such as attacking.
  • Werebeaver: In Woodie’s beaver form he has slightly increased movement speed and the ability to gnaw objects, which can function as hammering, chopping, mining and digging. This action is especially effective against trees.
  • Weremoose: In Woodie’s moose form he has slightly decreased movement speed. He has very high damage reduction and can punch for a good amount of damage. He can also use a charge attack which can let him run in a straight line dealing damage to any enemies he runs into. If he hits a structure or tree while charging he will feel sore which decreases his movement speed for a few seconds.

Some perks that apply to all forms:

  • Increased insulation and wetness resistance
  • A passive sanity drain while transformed
  • All forms have their own weremeter which replaces Woodie’s Hunger bar and constantly drains but moreso when idle (standing still for weregoose, not using the gnaw action for werebeaver, not attacking for weremoose). Once fully drained Woodie will transform back into a human and will be left with 0 hunger (Note that his health and sanity stats still apply while transformed in contrary to singleplayer Don’t Starve). After the transformation any mobs aggressive towards the player will remain aggressive.
  • The player’s inventory is unavailable. This means the player also can’t pick up or use items.
  • In contrary to singleplayer Don’t Starve, Woodie can use his map while transformed.
  • There’s no way to heal the weremeter to extend how long the player is transformed.

Окаменелое дерево (Petrified Evergreen) — тип объектов, который можно найти в Don’t Starve Together. Являются альтернативным источником камня, кремня и селитры. Не является деревом, т. к. ни Энт ни Вормвуд не реагируют на его разрушение.

Процесс окаменения затрагивает все стадии ели, и с каждой стадии каменного дерева добывается разное количество ресурсов. Когда процесс окаменения начинается, персонаж скажет о звуках, которые доносятся из ближайших деревьев.

Окаменение [ ]

Процесс начинается на 43-64 игровой день. Окаменение затрагивает ели на площади 9×9 клеток дёрна. После этого запускается таймер на 21-31,5 дня, по истечении которого начнётся поиск нового «подходящего» леса. Таковым является местность с большим количеством деревьев. Также найденные деревья не должны составлять больше 20% от всех деревьев в мире. Если подходящий лес не был найден, таймер запускается снова.

Проклятая безделушка

Проклятая безделушка (Accursed Trinket) — предмет, добавленный в Don’t Starve Together. Выпадает при убийстве пороховой обезьяны или примата и попадает в инвентарь персонажа, скользя к нему по земле. Не может быть перемещена в хранилища или выброшена из инвентаря. Если на момент убийства обезьяны он заполнен, безделушка выбьет первую вещь слева, чтобы занять её ячейку.

Проклятие [ ]

Проклятые безделушки оказывают на персонажа эффект, который именуется проклятием пиратов лунной пристани. Чем больше безделушек в инвентаре, тем сильнее проклятие. По достижению 10 штук в ячейке персонаж превращается в Ванки.

Избавиться от проклятия можно, изъяв все безделушки из инвентаря с помощью королевы лунной пристани, которая будет забирать по четыре за каждый пещерный банан.
